Player – [Lepellier]
Name – Virgil Argentus
Race – Human
Sub-race – Ravillan
Class – Knight
Age – 20
Appearance – Virgil is a young man who looks like he has been a little down on his luck. He's a somewhat tall, but not necessarily gaunt male. He stands about 5'10" tall and weighs around 176 pounds. Though not necessarily toned, he is far from being considered overweight. Virgil actually has very handsome features, including a strong facial structure with sharp lines and his deep hazel eyes. His brown hair is getting a little long, but not covering much of his face. It is, however, generally rather messy. He doesn't shave often, and therefore has a perpetual bout of stubble on his face, and well and a small goatee that he keeps trimmed. His clothing is rather simple. He wears a white swordsman's tunic and loose black leggings with a forest green sash wrapped around his waist. He doesn't really look the part of a knight in terms of gallantry, but looks can be deceiving.
Personality – Virgil is a rather relaxed man. He isn't the type to become aggressive or to quickly over-think things. His stoic nature and general lack of urgency make him have a very cool and collected head, even if he isn't really one to take a situation and think too deeply on it. When it comes to communication, Virgil can talk, quite well at that. He doesn't quite have the silver tongue that Ravillans are most known for, but he is far from inept of speaking. He is also very impartial. His carefree nature has led him to diverge from the typical racial hatreds and to decide on what people to hate based on themselves and their personalities and finer qualities than to base them off others of their race. It is just as easy for Virgil to hate another Ravillan as it is for him to enjoy the company of a Dah'kin. His policy is to help defend those who need it and to stand by those that he sees to be helpful in his pursuits.
History – Virgil's parents hailed from a poorer part of Decima city. His father was a laborer for the city and his mother watched after Virgil and his two younger sisters, Julia and Camilla. Both of his parents were strong supporters of Claudia, and felt that she was a great leader for the people of Ravilla. Around the time Virgil was 10, his father finally got a break that would help the family. Virgil's father was to be moved up from being just a lowly laborer to working in the heart of Decima as a civil advisor to the Empress. The family moved into the richer part of Decima, but Virgil's young heart still longed for their old home in a sense. He saw how badly the people in the poorer parts of Decima were being treated compared to those of wealth, and he saw that they needed someone they could rely on. Virgil lived, knowing this fact, in silence of it for the next nine years, happy that his father had been able to do something for their family, but quietly wanting to return to their roots so that he could do something about what was happening to the poor. From the age of 16, Virgil had begun doing a little bit of training with the city guards, getting familiar with a sword and the other basic duties. One day, around when Virgil was 19, not too long ago, one thing changed Virgil's silence. He was on a guard patrol with several other guards when a young girl dressed in ratty clothing burst out from a store they were walking by, clutching a piece of bread. The young girl ran away, and the shopkeep came bursting out afterwords. One of the other guards around caught the little girl and brought her back to the shop, yelling at her to give the man back the bread. Virgil could see that the girl was hungry, and just wanted the food to survive. Virgil couldn't help but see his own little sisters in the girls face, so he decided to pay the shopkeep and have her let go. The other guard abruptly dropped the girl and began laughing when Virgil paid the shopkeep, mocking Virgil for helping a "guttersnipe". Virgil didn't care though, knowing that he may have saved the little girl, and with no real questions, he left guard duty and the city of Decima all together to strike out on his own and try to help those who are less fortunate. On his way from the city, Virgil ran into two Rysallean women by names Chese Fenpollen and Mireille Goldthorn. They were a couple of drifters who had come to Decima in search for a better life and found themselves in the slums of the city much as Virgil was just 10 years ago. The women had gotten themselves in trouble with the city guards for trying to rouse the people of the slums and wanted to escape Decima, so Virgil joined them and helped them out of the city. His heart still holds a special place for the city of Decima, and particularly it's leader, Claudia, however, he has averted his eyes from the pride and pomp of the city to live a less elaborate lifestyle as a drifter and freelance shield-for-hire.

2010-04-19 [Duredhel]: Fill in the char sheet and we'll do the rule aspect later ;)

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: Ok, first off, you get +1 to your charisma or constitution and -1 to your strength or dexterity.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: +1 con, -1 Dex.

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: Now you get six points to increase to any stat.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: +2 Con, +1 Cha, +2 Str, +1 Dex?

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: aye aye. You have a specialization to Constitution because of your class. You also get to pick one specialization to Intelligence or Charisma, and a third one to whichever stat you want.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Charisma and Strength.

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: Ok
<img500*0:stuff/aj/48479/1271742487.jpg>

Ok, here is the knight tree, remember how to pick skills? you have 6 SP :3

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: I think I remember. I want 3 points in Diehard, 1 point in Handle Medium armor, and 2 points in Defensive stance? I think that works out right. And then, Smite? Or is that bought differently? I can't remember.

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: Smite is bought differently, but you can select it, so no worries. I'll add your skills.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Alright, sounds good. I know that you can only have one of the special skills/level slot, and that they must follow the red lines to select the next, but I didn't remember if I needed SP for it or something.

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: nah, you dont need SP for the Special Skills. The char is done! I'll just add a starting pack of equipment for him and yer set. Now go and poke the others into finishing!

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Alrighty then! Poking away!

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: I'd play this character carefully though, Lep, i'm letting you do it because I trust you won't wreck the party or play it totally out of character. I mean.. what is an altruistic white element knight doing with a party of freelancers who do odd jobs with money as the incentive? (jobs that will often be dirty and illegal). I'm just trusting you to make a good spin on it and come up with a compelling reason this character wouldnt just leave and join the paladins or something.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: He has his reasons for not joining the paladins. He saw what the guards did and decided he'd rather be elsewhere. He feels more like a Robin Hood type character. His altruism is more leaning towards protecting the unprotected. Though, since his main goal in life is more along the lines of "Good" in DnD terms (And actually, CG, if you want to be precise), He'd fit best as a White element. He became a freelancer simply to make a difference in the world, no matter who he had to deal with. They come to a job that he doesn't necessarily like, well, he'll either try talking them out of killing the target and feel remorse that he had to do something like that, or he will avoid the killing part himself and be used simply as a human shield to try to rebuff the situation.

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: Kay, good to know.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Yup, not a problem.

2010-04-20 [Veltzeh]: So, I had this idea about how Chese tried to start a movement in some slummish area of Decima, failed and then somehow ended up with Virgil because they seem to have a similar sort of mindset. And now for details!

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: I like the idea. Maybe Chese was also chased out of the city by the guards or something for starting this upheaveal(<-Ok, I can't think how to spell that word) and that's when Virgil stepped in and joined him, helping him get out of the city.

2010-04-20 [Veltzeh]: Ooh, that sounds good. I wonder how Koneko's char would fit into this. X)

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: She's another Rysallean, right? Maybe she was with Chese starting the movement, or one of the rioters?

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Also, Dur, what's with the Dex and Mag stats in the Short Sword?

2010-04-20 [Duredhel]: I'll explain when all the characters are done.

2010-04-20 [Lepellier]: Ok, works for me. *shrugs*

2010-05-10 [Lepellier]: Well, charas are done...what's with the dex and mag?

2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: ohu, right, totally forgot to explain that XD. Dex is weapon speed, a character can attack a max of three times with a weapon as long as he doesn't move. Once if the character moves or has a Dex that is less than the weapon Dex. Twice if he doesn't move and has a dex equal or greater than the weapon Dex. Thrice if he doesn't move and has a dex that is twice as much or greater than the weapon Dex. (Dex 0, for example, means its a very fast weapon, stronger and bigger weapons usually have higher Dex, meaning its harder to get more than one attack in with them). Mag is the amount of enchantments a weapon can hold. Mag 2 means you can enchant it with two spells, Mag 1, one spell, ect.

2010-05-10 [Lepellier]: Awesome. So Virgil can attack twice with the shortsword then?

2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: Yep

2010-05-10 [Lepellier]: cool.

2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: Only at one target though.

2010-05-10 [Lepellier]: Kinda figured, but thanks.

2010-05-10 [Roma]: Ahh, I can't wait to see how Az'rim and Virgil get along

2010-05-10 [Lepellier]: Interesting to say the least. I'm waiting on Padma's post before I do anything right now.

2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: Er, crap, I remembered that the weapon stat stuff worked like in old RoL.

2011-05-23 [Lepellier]: So, Dur, I was wondering what happened to his shield? I'm pretty sure he had a small shield of some sort before the update?

2011-05-23 [Duredhel]: Whoops, my bad mate XD, sorry.
I gave you the shield but I named it a second sword.
All fixed now.

2011-05-23 [Lepellier]: Hah, gotcha. I was very confused and thought all I had was the sword. :P

2011-06-24 [Lepellier]: Lep derped there. I thought the LS was 2 speed, not 6...XD

2011-06-24 [Duredhel]: No prob, mate XD.

2011-07-02 [Lepellier]: Is it too late to spend my points? Like, can I put my point into con, and add to Diehard? Or does that require more points now? XD

2011-07-02 [Duredhel]: Nah, its cool, you can do both those things.

2011-07-02 [Lepellier]: Sweet, thanks Dur! Also, does he get extra hit points for the extra con as well?

2011-07-02 [Duredhel]: Nah, because remember that fractions in RoL are rounded up. So when he got +3.5 HP from his 7 con, he was actually getting +4.

2011-07-03 [Lepellier]: Gotcha. I was just wondering. I thought he had 27 before the last level for some reason, I must've just missed him gaining at level.

2011-12-07 [Duredhel]: Level up! You have 2 stat points and 2 skill points now :>

2011-12-07 [Lepellier]: Let's drop points into Con and 1 point in smithing, if possible?

2011-12-07 [Duredhel]: sure thing.

2011-12-07 [Duredhel]: You have one SP leftover, do you wanna use it or just save it for later?

2011-12-07 [Lepellier]: Don't suppose that can go right in to handle heavy armor, can it?

2011-12-07 [Duredhel]: Yeah, you can :>, you've got all the prerequisites.

2011-12-07 [Lepellier]: Sounds like a plan then.

2011-12-07 [Duredhel]: Gotcha ;3
